Karachi: Quetta Gladiators’ captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has expressed his disappointment to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials, reports suggested.

The wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfaraz was due to travel to Abu Dhabi during the wee hours of Sunday morning, however, he didn’t get clearance for travelling and returned back to the hotel.

Gladiators’ owner Nadeem Omer blamed PCB over the incident, citing their incompetence but avoided staging a major protest for the sake of league’s reputation.

It must be noted that PCB announced that 16 individuals (6 from Karachi and 10 from Lahore) will travel to Abu Dhabi by commercial flights but only five individuals, including Mohammad Hasnain, travelled. 10 people in Lahore were also left stranded at the airport.

Meanwhile, the travel documents of the remaining individuals in Karachi and Lahore have been completed and PCB is awaiting Abu Dhabi Sports Council’s approval.

They will travel as soon as PCB receives green signal from the Abu Dhabi Sports Council
