Parvez Abbasi Open Shooting Championship kicks off July 25

The 3rd Parvez Abbasi Open Shooting Championship is all set to start from July 25 at the Pakistan Navy Shooting Range, PNS Bahadur (Greater Area Karsaz), Karachi.

As many as 400 shooters will compete in three different categories which include air pistol, skeet, and trap. A four-day event concluding on July 28 will feature Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force, Police, and other law enforcement agencies.

While briefing to the media in Karachi, the tournament’s director Commodore Ghazanfer Abbas said that they are promoting the vision of late Parvez Abbas who introduced shooting at higher-level.

“Our aim is to flourish shooting in Pakistan. This is the third straight year in which this tournament is taking place. During this period, plenty of shooters got a chance to show their strength,” he said.

Abbas invited the people of Karachi to witness this exciting and unique sport and also revealed the method of registration for people who are interested in open shooting.

“The platform is open for everyone. Interested people can come to us on match days where our team will be present to guide them,” he said.

To a query about spreading awareness about the game in the country, Abbas said that they have developed the soft image of shooting in the country. “We have developed this game and I want media especially to encourage the shooters and this sport,” he added.
