Pakistan’s shooter qualifies for Tokyo Olympics 2020

Pakistan’s shooter Khalil Akhtar showed prominent performance in ISSF Rifle/Pistol World Cup in Brazil to become first Pakistani to qualify for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics in 2020.

Akhtar finished at the sixth spot in 25M Rapid Fire contest in Brazil to win quota which earns him a chance to represent Pakistan in next year’s Olympics.

Hailed from Umarkot, Akhtar expressed his feelings in a video message to ARY Sports. The shooter is looking forward to clinching medal for Pakistan in the extravaganza.

“I am confident to achieve something big in next year’s event. I am not only eying participation but winning a medal for my country,” he said.

Akhtar said that he will start preparing for the event soon and requested his department to provide him the best possible facilities to be prepared well for the event. “I won’t leave any gap in my performance. For that, I have to to be trained strongly,” he added.
