National Games kicks off October 26 in Peshawar

The 33rd edition of National Games will commence from October 26 in Peshawar with exhibiting Pakistan’s tourism, environment, culture, and heritage.

The Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) in collaboration with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s government is optimistic to stage games in a well-organized way.

The president of the POA, Arif Hasan is confident to stage the game in the best possible way. He thanked the KP’s government for their all-out support.

“POA and the KP government are collaborating to hold the games successfully. We are thankful to KP Chief Minister Mehmood Khan and Senior Provincial Minister Atif Khan for their support,” he said in a statement.

The game’s torch relay ceremony will begin from Karachi on October 6 and will be taken to different cities of all four provinces. The cities include Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. The torch will also be taken at Babusar Top, the highest point in Gilgit-Baltistan.

It is pertinent to mention here that the trials for different games will be held in respective provinces and all provincial associations have been directed to hold open trials.
