Pakistan’s discarded wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal believes that his brother and hard-hitting middle-order batsman Umar Akmal has the potential to represent Pakistan at international level.

“Umar is a good player and has strong skills to win matches. He has his natural shorts which help him play long innings,” said Kamran while advising him to concentrate on his game and learn from past mistakes.

The right-handed opening batsman said that despite performing at every stage the Akmal brothers didn’t get enough chances.

“It is unjust with both Umar and Adnan that despite performances they are being overlooked,” he said.

While commenting on not making to teh World Cup’s squad, Kamran said it hurts when there is no reward for a player for his strong performance.

“It not only hurts you but your family too. If you look at my stats then there are no queries as I have been performing at the domestic level,” said Kamran who is determined to not give up.

Kamran, who played for Pakistan in World Cup 2011, highly rated Pakistan’s chances to win the upcoming edition of the World Cup, scheduled from May 30 in England and Wales.

“I think Pakistan team can make it to the top three and if they perform strongly then maybe lift the trophy,” said Kamran.

Kamran represented Pakistan in 53 Tests, 157 ODIs and 58 T20Is.
