Pakistan Test team captain Azhar Ali confirmed that he is a part of the team’s playing XI when they take on Australia in the first test from November 21 at the Gaba.

Azhar during a pre-match conference said that the final XI for the first contest is finalized and Naseem Shah is a part of it. The complete squad will be revealed tomorrow.

“I know the excitement about Shah. People want to see him play against Australia and so we are. We are looking forward to playing him tomorrow,” he said.

The captain highlighted the young bowling sensation for his commendable focus on the game and hopes to see him continuing his form from first-class cricket.

“I saw him play in first-class cricket. Earlier, I just saw his videos but facing him in the nets was a different experience for me,” he recalled.

The right-handed batsman doesn’t want to look at the past record as Pakistan had last won a Test match in Australia back in 1995, that too was a dead rubber.

“Past records don’t affect your current performance. You need to build your mindset in a positive way. We are here to win and that win will mark records,” he said.
