The head of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Cricket Committee Mohsin Hasan Khan has advised the team to modify their opening pair for the World Cup 2019.

“Pakistan needs to have specialised and settled opening pair which can give the team solid start in big-pressure games and here we are lacking,” Mohsin said while speaking to a private news channel.

He also said that the team’s middle-order batting could not be settled due to which only two players bear all the pressure.

“Quality all-rounders are vital for any team to win matches, we need to further boost the performance of available all-rounders to win the mega event,” Khan added.

Mohsin believes that mental fitness was more important than physical strength for the players to perform in the mega event.

“During the recent ODI series against Australia, the Pakistan players could not produce good performance due to lacking in mental fitness. They must have been prepared mentally before playing against a tough opponent,” he said.

Khan also hinted that due to change of the weather conditions in England they could also select spinners.
