Pakistan’s right-handed batsman Babar Azam will represent Somerset in the County Championship 2020, the Chief Executive of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Wasim Khan revealed.
Babar represented the same county in this year’s Vitality Blast. He is the current captain of Pakistan’s T20I team.
On the other hand, Khan said that more players will be sent to play County Championship before Pakistan’s tour to England next year to play Test cricket.
“We are in contact with counties to take our players on board. We are planning to send a couple of batsmen apart from Babar who will play for Somerset this season,” Khan replied when asked about sending players to England prior to Test series to give them immense exposure.
It must be noted here that only pacer Mohammad Abbas has been signed for County Championship to date. He will represent Nottinghamshire.
