Omair, Saud rescue Sindh against Balochistan

Karachi: Centurians Omair Bin Yousuf and Saud Shakil rescued Sindh to 407-10 in reply to Balochistan’s 458-9 (Dec) on Day 3 of Fifth Round in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

Saud smashed 142 runs off 233 balls with the help of 15 boundaries and a six while Omair scored 109 off 243. They both consolidated 207 runs for Sindh to bring them closer to the opponent’s total.

In the end, Saad Ali managed to score 56 runs off 93 balls laced with three boundaries and a six.

For Balochistan, Jalat Khan bagged five wickets while Mohammad Talha and Taj Wali took two wickets each.

In reply, Balochistan added 42 runs to their total which took them 93 runs ahead of Sindh. Azeem Ghumman (24*) and Bismillah Khan (14*) will resume their inning at 42-0 tomorrow.

At National Stadium, Umair Masood scored his maiden First-Class century to help Northern set 390-runs target for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK). He scored 103 runs off 126 balls with the help of nine boundaries to help his team add 247 runs to 142 runs lead.

In reply, KPK closed Day 3 at 55-0 with Musaddiq Ahmed (28) and Israrullah (22) being not out.

On the other hand, Usman Salahuddin (76) and Saad Nasim (69) led Central Punjab (CP) to a fighting total of 401-9. Ali Shan made 44 runs while Hasan Ali and Waqas Maqsood remained not out for 22 and 13 runs, respectively.

For SP, Bilawal Bhatti and Salman Ali Agha bagged three wickets each.

It must be noted here that SP declared their first inning for 527-7. They are still 126 runs ahead of CP.
