KARACHI: Young Pakistani mountaineer Asad Ali Memon is up to summit his next peak which will be Denali, Alaska – the highest mountain peak in North America.

Denali is located 20,310 feet above sea level. It is the third most prominent and third most isolated peak on Earth, after Mount Everest and Aconcagua.

In an exclusive interview with ARY Sports, Memon expressed excitement for heading towards his next summit, but at the same time laments lack of financial support from the government and private sector either.

“I am onto my next summit which will be Denali, the highest mountain peak in North America. It will be a group summit starting from June 5 and I aim to participate in it,” he said.

“See, I have been through tough patches throughout my career and they aren’t over yet. I am waiting for any financial support and I am confident that someone will come forward to help me achieve this feat,” Larkana-born Memon asserted.

Memon, who recently set a world record to summit Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa within 24 hours, looks forward to setting an example for fellow mountaineers to achieve goals with limited resources and support.

“I recently set a record in Africa and I have a lot of achievements on my back. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the support which I deserved,” he lamented.

“My aim is to summit peaks in all seven continents. Also, I want to aware of others about extreme sports and make them able to represent Pakistan at the highest level,” he shared.
